Alpine skiiers can choose between a small village lift just around the corner or the four biggest ski areas on the Große Arber, Geißkopf, Pröller or the Silberberg.
The ARBERLAND BAVARIAN FOREST has a special heart for families with children - and that also in winter. Most of the ski areas offer children ski parks that are especially made for childrens's needs. Magic carpets, ski carousels and ski schools for children like for example the ArBär-KinderLand, Geißleinpark - Geißkopf or the children ski park Silberberg are a good start for a skiers life.
By the way: Not only beginners feel comfortable in the Bavarian Forest. Besides moderate downhils to enjoy there are a lot of slopes - like the World Cup slope on the Großer Arber- that are great fun for professional skiers. And snowboarders rock the funparks of the region like the Geißkopf Snow- and Funpark with kickers of different heights, rails, boxes and wallrides.
