Immerse yourself in a foreign culture, sleep on hay, walk amongst massive trees and between mountains and above all: let nature be nature and experience it at close quarters. Locals and holiday guests can enjoy all this at the Wilderness Camp at the Falkenstein in the Bavarian Forest.
In the
wilderness camp at the Falkenstein, yurts from Mongolia stand only a few metres from a Bavarian-Bohemian bark hut. Learn about foreign cultures and discover how your ancestors lived. And all this in natural surroundings. The experiences provided by the "WaldZeit" association at the wilderness camp on the Falkenstein can, with complete justification, be described as unique in Europe.
Between Forest Tent and Mountain StreamThe natural backdrop of ancient forests, massive trees and mountain streams are a good start. Trees, water, forest, light, meadow, earth are the themes of the 6 huts embedded in their surroundings. The meadow bed in the turf, with beds made out of sweet smelling hay, the tree house 20 metres up in the treetops, the water house built over a rippling mountain stream, the cosy earth cave, the forest tent and the bright lighthouse.
The huts are very simple. Nothing gets in the way of direct contact with nature. Anyone who takes part in the trips and workshops of the "WaldZeit" association, can expect something of very high quality, according to Karl Friedrich Sinner, Head of the National Park administration.
International ArberLandIn ArberLand one can take a distant view: a Cabana from Venezuela, a longhouse from Vietnam, a yurt from Mongolia, an amazon hut from Brazil, a mud hut from Benin, offer the opportunity to experience and learn about a different way of life.
For holiday guests, young people or small groups: the "WaldZeit" association is happy to put together a programme based on the principle of learning about ecology.
