From mid May to end October, the Waldbahn travels every Wednesday as the „Böhmerwaldcourier“ from Eastern Bavaria to Bohemia, from the Bavarian Forest to the Bohemian Forest.
The Böhmerwaldcourier was set up by the Tourismusverbandes Ostbayern e.V. and the German railways – it travels from Straubing to Bayerisch Eisenstein on the Czech border (it can be joined at Regen and Zwiesel) and from there on to Klatovy, the Bohemian town south of Plzen.
In Klatovy, Böhmerwaldcourier guests are given a German language tour through the renaissance town with its landmark, the „Black and White Tower“including a tour of the Church of St. Ignatius with its embalmed monks, the catacombs and the Baroque pharmacy.
There is also a typical Bohemian meal at lunchtime.
Please note:
You must have a valid passport or identity card with you!
