There are plenty of reasons for touring the heart of the Bavarian Forest on motor bike: Beautiful panoramas with plenty of viewing areas, biker friendly accommodation and places to eat, professional motor bike servicing, an ideal location for making an excursion into the Czech Republic and twisty roads everywhere.
Touring comfortably on a big cruiser or eating up the bends on an enduro, making major excursions on a tourer or popping up a mountain on a sporting bike – every type of biker will find suitable roads in the largest forested area in Central Europe, the Bavarian/Upper Pfalz/ Bohemian Forest region.
On peaceful roads, guaranteed to make a biker’s heart beat faster, you can travel through the 6,000 square kilometres of the Bavarian Forest, of which the best known part is the National Park. 130 mountains in the Bavarian Forest are higher then 1,000 metres. You will be rewarded with wonderful tours with panoramic views – described by Adalbert Stifter as "wave after wave of forest until the final one clips the sky".
To the North you can find the Upper Pfalz Forest – a land of woods and water. Thousands of ponds and lakes, as well as having a higher density of castles than any other region in Germany. Anyone who wants to enjoy history and culture as well as the ride will not be disappointed here, not least on the Glass and Porcelain roads, through the world of the craft of glass and porcelain production.
There could hardly be a better location for excursions: following Czech Republic’s accession to the EU, the Bohemian, Bavarian and Upper Pfalz Forests are much more closely connected- for bikers who have set up their tents in ArberLand, excursions to the world famous spas Karlovy Vary, Franziske Lazne and Marianske Lazne are almost a duty, as well as side trips to Klatovy and Cesky Krumlow on the Czech side of the border and to Bodenmais, Zwiesel, Lam or Passau, Deggendorf and Regensburg on the Bavarian side..
Motor bike riders will find great biker friendly accommodation and places to eat in the whole of ArberLand. At the end of each day, there is excellent Bavarian-Bohemian cuisine to be enjoyed in romantic beer gardens. Biker services include covered parking, a drying room for wet clothing and special package deals for bikers.
