The joy of movement, the fun of sport, the enjoyment of nature, touring with GPS: Nordic Walking in ArberLand combines all of these. Good for the heart and circulation, relief for the musculoskeletal system and useful help in the battle against excess calories.
Nordic Walking has so many fans because it is quick and easy to learn. And even more so in the beautiful Bavarian forest. The Nordic Walkers who usually use normal paths will particularly appreciate the unspoilt forests of the National Park around the Great Rachel and Falkenstein. Anyone who wants paths which are a little less hilly will find the river paths around Regen and Zwiesel a somewhat less exhausting way of enjoying the Bavarian Forest.
Well marked Trails
The region offers an increasing number of walking tours, usually called trails, with good signposting as well as plenty of boards with fitness tips to provide some variety.
Around the Great Arber, 2 DSV Nordic Active Centres have been set up in conjunction with the German Skiing Association and the Cologne Sports Academy, which offer trails of different degrees of difficulty, suitable for everyone who wants to practise the sport. The Nordic Fitness Park ArberLand has been granted the official seal of the German Skiing Association (DSV). The highest altitude Nordic-Walking-Park offers 5 trails for beginners and professionals.
Nordic Walking with GPS
For everyone who likes gadgets, we have an increasing number of Nordic Walking Tours with GPS data ready for downloading, allowing you to enjoy nature without maps or signposts.
