For skiing and snowboarding, for adults and children, for competitors, carvers and those who just ski for pleasure: The ArberLand ski slopes offer variety and plenty of room on the pistes. The Great Arber, Geißkopf and the Pröller area are the most popular winter sport locations in the Bavarian Forest.
World Cup, FIS course and the National Alpine Ski Training Centre: Everyone can ski like a champion at the Great Arber. Amateur skiers can find perfect conditions on the same slopes used by the stars of the sport for their competitions.
Take the Gondola to the Top
With its 1,456 metres, the Great Arber is regarded as the "Mont Blanc of the Bavarian Forest". The 6 seater chair lift and modern gondola take skiers and snowboarders to just below the peak in 4 minutes. From here, there is a range of pistes of different lengths and degrees of difficulty. And there is also a clear view of the Bavarian and Bohemian Forests.
It is possible to have fun and learn something: Experts train on the World Cup piste of the Ski Training Centre. There are always a few tricks to be learned from them – free of charge.
Snowboard: Funpark and Playboard Rail Park
Snowboarders have their own Funpark at the Thurnhofhang, consisting of various big kickers and a Playboard Rail Park (including eight Snowboard Handrails), depending on the snow conditions.
Plenty of space: The Geißkopf ski area has eight wide and varied pistes for beginners, experienced and expert skiers. Snowboarders have a Quarterpipe and a Funpark.
The Pröller ski area has pistes of between 700 and 1,350 metres in length and a height difference of up to 320 metres, suitable for every type of skiing: competition, leisure and many others.
