Right next to the Bavarian Forest National Park and the Arber mountain, with state certification of its clean air: a holiday in Bayerisch Eisenstein is something special. The national border with the Czech Republic passes right through the middle of the railway station. But the beautiful forest scenery knows no borders.
Rest and recuperation throughout the year is possible at
Bayerisch Eisenstein and Regenhütte. The King of the Bavarian Forest, the Great Arber, rises majestically at the edge of the village and is a popular destination in summer and winter.
On the edge of the village, the Bavarian Forest
National Park offers countless opportunities to discover the unspoilt flora and fauna of the area. On the other side of the border, there is the equally attractive Sumava National Park as well as the picturesque towns of Bohemia. And if you want to go further afield, you can head for Prague, Plzen, Salzburg, Regensburg and Passau.
Historic Locomotives in the Local Railway MuseumBayerisch Eisenstein offers guests a genuinely different experience: right next to the famous Bavarian-Bohemian border railway station are the historic locomotives in the Local Railway Museum. And there is also the Bavarian Forest
Natural Park and National Park Information Centre, the Border Glassworks, Animal Museum, Fairy Tale Forest, village park and natural bathing pool at Regenhütte.
Winter Sports without BordersBayerisch Eisenstein is a great place for winter sports. The Winter Sport Centre at the
Great Arber with the 6 seater gondola, 6 seater chair lift and drag lifts offers plenty of facilities for alpine skiers and snowboarders. There are four cross country skiing centres close by. And anyone who likes more peace and quiet can take a walk along cleared winter paths, through the snow covered forest.
